Baguette

You are crisp,
and with so much fluff.
You crumble at my touch,
yet you are ready to hold,
the filling that’s to come.

The room fills with a savory fragrance
of sizzling beef,caramelizing onions,
and roasting peppers.
This is your cue, to prepare to serve.

Lathered with dressing,
you are put on the plate,
and given the duty,
to hug the mixture ever so tightly.

This is your life.
